Backstage Pass Definition

A Backstage Pass is a pass that grants privileged access to an event, whether it's a concert, a music festival, a film festival, a fashion show or any kind of cultural event.

Passes are usually in a laminated format, feature your picture, name, the type of access that is granted, the organization you're affiliated with and should be hung around your neck. VIP and limited access passes can also have the form of simple wrist bands, the color being used to define the type of pass.

While usually delivered by the music label and management of the bands, some additional in-house passes are sometime required and delivered by the venue where the event takes place

As a side note, there is a market of backstage passes, as passes for cult and popular bands, from the 70's to nowadays have a memorabilia value, being highly coveted by fans and collectors alike.
