Types of Backstage Passes

There are mostly 4 types of back stage passes for concerts:

  • All Access Pass: The all access pass is the holy grail of backstage passes. As stated in its name, this pass gives you access to everything, from the rehearsal to the show and the parties. The all access pass is usually delivered to the band, its entourage, the crew, band management and venue staff.

  • Crew Pass: The crew pass is usually given to the staff that preps the stage, sets up instruments, cables and perform sound check tests for the engineer. Also known as stage crew, these people are often temporary help hired for the event.

  • VIP Pass or Limited Access Pass: Also known as VIP, the limited access pass is usually used for friends of the band as well as fans that have been selected through contests or by buying VIP packages to meet the band. This is a much conveyed pass, as it allows to attend the pre and after parties.

  • Press Pass: The press pass is of course designed for professionals from the press who are covering the event - they include journalists, critics, photographers and influent blog owners.
